As I learn the DX5C a bit more, I want to see if I can get the correct speed reading because it's showing 230mph max is not it :)

What is the motor pole count and rollout to set speed? Needed to set the speed correctly in the DX5C

Looking for what it is and/or directions to find so far Horizon Hobby has not chimed in.

Rigs I want it for (stock)
  • Infraction v1 (has the FIRMA 150 ESC)
  • Felony
  • Losi DB Pro
Thx

Your pole count for the Arrma's will be 4 pole and rollout is your gear ratio I believe. So diff gears on v1 Infraction are 13/43 so 43/13 is 3.30 felony I'm not sure as different size diffs and not sure on the Losi either. Don't quote me as it could be pinion spur for rollout but again to find ratio divide the gearing out. For pole count look up the motor it will be listed most motors will be 4 and sometimes 6 pole👍

Great start more than I knew beforehand. Thanks Sir....!

Speed is a calculation and you do not need that module.
Pole count is 4 (check datasheet of motor in use) and rollout needs to be measured. Based on tires and pinions etc but see below.

At the end of teh day, you won't look at this value a lot as you will simply crash at high speed. Ask me how I know :)
I never bothered setting the rollout in my DX5, external GPS is more useful.

Good luck.

Circumference of tires L = diameter * pi
Final ratio FR = internal ratio (see manual) * gearing (spur teeth / pinion teeth)
Rollout = L / FR

Or how far your rig moves per motor rotation. You can enter it in metric or medieval, so use your favorite measuring tape.

For a 1:10 model it is about an inch, give or take. Mine are 2.9 cm and 2.5 cm to give some rough range what you should get.
