I am in Elgin and my friends are in the Sycamore and Dekalb areas. We all just got some trucks and are looking for places to bash (with others!). Kane County forest preserve said there is an ordinance against RC cars and boats, so Raceway woods is out. I've heard of people getting kicked out of the Elgin BMX track also. Where do you go?

Thread type
RC Track or Bash Spot
Look for new housing developments or construction sites when no one is there. They always need to put more fill dirt when building on top of land.

Yorkville has a great BMX track. It’s all grass and fairly close to another concrete skate park. There are a few guys on here that go there.

Busse woods in Schaumburg would be a good spot. There are huge fields and they have a section for RC planes. You would have to bring some ramps to make it interesting.

I'm live in Genoa but Sycamore is right down the road from me. We have some woods here in Genoa I usually go to. I use the same forest preserve for my crawlers as well. Also looking for fellow bashers in the area.

I run in Dekalb. I bash at these places mostly:

In the Spring/Summer/Fall, I usually just go beat up my trucks at the grass bmx track in Yorkville that I found a couple years ago. But if I need to test stuff out, or just want to get a quick bash in, I'll stay local and get to Katz Park skatepark here in Dekalb before 9am and kids show up.

I won't run anywhere when kids are around. If they show up and I can't safely not be near them, I leave. I suggest everyone do the same. One person hits a kid in this current society and we are all banned from running anything at those places.

I got chased out of the Elgin bmx track, so I don't bother making that drive anymore. When there's some 30yo dude screaming at a 45yo dude... it's best to avoid it. It's publicly accessible, but I believe privately funded/maintained.

Check out my youtube channel to see those places, I've recorded pretty much every bash session the past few years:
