Well if it's good for one thing, it's to advise and point in the right direction... hopefully we've done that
Followed it step by step as I watched it...then I did the calibration and so now I have only neutral and forward but for some reason when I went full reverse and tapped the set button there was no response...now I have no brake or reverseNo problem, don't worry about that, that's what this forum is for.

Factory reset it and redid it...all set guys!When you calibrated the radio, did you set the throttle limiter to 100% and set all trims to 0/centre? If not, you'll need to calibrate it again
After this is done, you can calibrate the ESC too. This is from the Arrma 4x4 BLX manual:
