I have a traxxas slash using stock electronics (tq reciver, xl5 esc) and they work perfectly fine until I plug in my servo into the reciver. When I plug it in my reciver flashes red fast and my esc flashes red slowly.

?don't know mabey go to Traxxas forum?and ask there about Traxxas ?

Since they work fine without the servo, my guess is that the (defective) servo is overloading the BEC. The voltage drops, receiver flashes red. Try another servo.

ESC flashing red is supposed to be LVC, maybe also BEC overload?

Are you plugging them in the right orientation and position? Black wire on the outside and channel 1? Esc should be in channel 2, on some Traxxas receivers this is slot number 3, the second slot is a second steering channel.

Problematic (half dead) BEC in the ESC? Fine with only the Rx hooked up, as soon as you add the servo, voltage falls.
Just throwing ideas here. ?‍♂️
If so, the good thing is that you can still run it with an external BEC :)
