Went to my parents house for breakfast this morning. They live by a river which has a small amount of wetlands during the wet season. Today the native birds were all out and putting on a show. I spotted 2 Kookaburras being harassed by Willie wagtails. White ibis, male and female blue wrens, ringneck parrots and more. I'm not a bird watcher but I do appreciate our beautiful wildlife.
The male blue wren is stunning but it was too fast for me to get a photo. This is one of his many girlfriends. Photo taken on a phone so not the best quality.

It's definitely a heron. Never seen one with brown wings. Maybe the camera screwed up the color. Sure looks like a black crowned night heron.
