Amain owns HobbyTown
+1 for Vortex hobbies in AZ as well. Bought Xmaxx from them, no sales tax which is an $85 dollar savings in the bad apple(NY).
Downside is they charged for shipping.. like $40?
I wish it wasn't so lopsided to use a local shop cuz I would love to, but operating costs and taxes here just killing the LHS.. plus I live an hour from any populus large enough to support one..which is otherwise a blessing for me(I'ma hermit)
Honorable mention to HRP..out of Utah. No sales tax, however they don't carry Arrma or Traxxas products. They do carry Team Corally which is an up and comer(IMO)..
We had a hobbytown in Albany years ago.. went there looking for Losi parts, came out offended and empty handed.. great if I needed traxxas parts for over list pricesYes I know. Most of the HTUSA's by me do not stock the whole line up of Castle, Hobbywing, Mugen, TA, XRAY, ETC. They all say "I can get you that".. Kinda like Horizon doesn't stock traxxsucks, there are bits from each, others don't carry but this HT does.
As soon as I said Losi, it was a hard no.. I think it is/was independently owned? Either way, the guy was a douche...but he treated me like I was the douche. No matter, he's long gone. Sionara douche
