Felony body on a Hobao?

Add the title suggests, would one of you speed runners know if a body from a felony will correctly fit a VTE2 V2, mounting holes aside? The Hobao website didn't provide much info.

It won't fit unless you do some customizing..it's a different platform so it's expected.youll need to play around with different size mounting posts .good luck

Any body will go on any chassis if you put the time and work into it.

I can confirm the wheel base of the VTE2 and limitless/infraction/felony are the same.

Yet the felony is designed with wider and bigger rear wheels and therefor the felony body has a wider/larger rear arches. It will fit but looks a bit silly. With wheelhex extenders you can compensate for the width

That's simple enough. I just can't paint a body to save my life, so I've started buying Arrma bodies for other vehicles, since they look good and are usually durable. Jenny's has the painted c8 Vette body for a decent price, just not my color, but since i plan to swap my C7 for a E-Ray next year I think it's a good option for me.

This is a VTE2 with a delta plastiks body intended for the felony. I used the wide rear wheels to make it fit.
Customizing the body mounts will be required.

WOW that looks great! If i could paint I'd go that direction. Since the VTE doesn't come with a body, is hope they made the included body posts adaptable enough to fit a variety of bodies. How did you customize your body mounts? I think i have spare Tekno and Arrma body mounts here with me, but i don't have access to many tools since I'm not home often.

I went with body mounts for 1:1 race cars. It is a quick connect piece.
They are Arrma parts that happen to bolt up to the Hobao shock tower spacing just fine.

The big drawback of using this type of mount is that you have to make a 1" hole in the body. So re-sale of the body to someone else is not going to happen.

What kind of body mounts are those? I was expecting dzus fastener when you said 1:1. Lol
Looks simple enough though. Sadly i just received a phone call today saying the VTE isn't in stock and there no ETA from Hobao either. Want to sell a spare slider? Lol

The Traxxas looks just as good as the real thing, so I'm hoping the C8 body looks just as realistic in person.
