Felony Felony Radio System in Infraction V1

Question....

Could the radio system from a Felony (Spektrum DX3) remote and receive give me the battery level readings in my Infraction v1 in installed? Infraction v1 does not have the same ESC as the Felony. Is the newer ESC required or just the radio system only if put in Infraction v1 to show battery level?

I am using all Spektrum smart batteries.

Now I am confused....I sent the same question to Hozion Hobby and they said the following...they left out or did not reference if the Firma ESC is needed in the question...which I would assume no from the answer:

Thank you for contacting Horizon Hobby Product Support. To get the battery readout you will need at least the DX3 with a smart receiver. With this and the smart batteries you will get the battery level on your remote. You can also get a DX5C radio to show you the readout level. Hope this helps and have a good weekend!
