Been doing the UDR thing for quite a while, but doing a few arrmas again
I picked up a mojave exb roller chassis for $230 i'll get to in a bit but started a tlr senton build last week. Ordered the tlr arms/turnbuckles/hex/plastics set/steering rack/hinge pin blocks/drive shafts and more i probably forgot to go with a used tlr chassis i already had off a used noto I bought a while back. Added in some basherqueen senton towers, top plate, and ackerman to the mix with the latest spektrum electronics. I am still having a hard time using spektrum stuff but i want to run this one on 4s on a small slick concrete track so no need to get crazy with it!
I did order the front diffs out of a felony since they were geared higher than the rest to maybe help with a little more speed at the lower voltage. I hadn't ever messed with felony diffs and i swear it was smooth when i took it out of the bag but when i shimmed it and put a tekjo gasket in i couldn't get the mesh to feel right on the ring and pinion, and when i put the cover back on the bulkhead it locked it up.... I yanked the tekjo gasket and went back with a stock but that wasn't my issue. i ended up not putting the cover back on tight which i'm sure will bite me in the butt. I may have to snag some aluminum cases for this build... I'm trying to keep it light so i may just have to throw some typhon or kraton diffs in instead. Jenny's forgot one diff in my package and i got it this weekend so i'll tear it down and shim it and see if i have the same problem. I guess i could try a different bulkhead on the rear if this front one works out fine.
I was going to use the typhon arms/drive shafts but i'm starting to worry about the body rubbing on the wheels so i dug out a set of senton arms and should have the rear dogbones here tomorrow so i can swap those back in as well.
Finally found the senton boost 4x2 bodies on sale and a cheapo ebay slash special i'll fiba tape and e6000 and put all kinds of stickers on for running and tearing up. I'll have to troll on the facebook pages and say "check out my senton boost! what upgrades should i do???"
I also ordered a cheap set of regular aluminum hinge pin blocks i may swap on as well. the rear was a bit of a bear with the angle the pins end up at and me not knowing if i have the right inserts in the tlr block either since i don't have a tlr typhon. Also found out i didn't have any swb tower to tower braces so i bought 4 on jennys to justify spending more on shipping than on the parts i needed hahahaha.
