MSI 4090 up from a 7 year old 1080ti. I started by updating all the drivers, shut it down. Added significant power wires. Put 'em all in nice as you do... removed the old card. New card took some pressure to seat, needed time to trim the Bic pen sag mitigation stanchion, and then fired it up to a 99% win, zero installation, just 11 to 24gb vram, welcome. Sound needed to be switched to speaker, but for reals... ridiculously happy with this upgrade.
To be fair, it was a factored purchase, several rc upgrades were sacrificed in the financing of this card
Great card! I'm actually thinking about giving my pc with a 3080ti to the wifey and building a new one with a 4090. I was going to skip the 40 series but apparently the 50 series is not coming until sometime in 2025. I bet coming from a 1080ti your mind is blown right now

Thoroughly. Doom Eternal was my benchmark and it did 2k with e.v.e.r.y.t.h.i.n.g. ON and still played at 250fps. I died like 30 seconds in, but damn if it wasn't pretty
Dang son. That's some money to drop! And I thought I still dropped alot on my 3080ti after I sold my rx 5700 during the crypto boom! On the bright side, you should be set basically for ultra graphics on any game through 2030

I haven't taken it thru it's paces yet, but I spend some time rendering, so this should help immensely..... In addition to crushing a few games. It was the finest, cheapest 4090 I could find
