Arrma RC's
  1. Kraton 6s
I'm currently looking for some stiffer shock springs. I'm currently using Arrma Fireteam 6s BLX - Rear Shocks which have the springs that are as follows:

Shock Springs, 72mm 0.97N/mm (5.54lbf/in) (2)

I'm looking for stiffer ones that would fit them and i've never tinkered with shocks but I want to learn! Any suggestions for stiffer springs for bashing?

I been hunting longer stronger shock springs since 2018. Wouldn’t it be nice to not have to crank the springs completely down? I will be watching too . Good luck.

Interesting thing I found looking into the shocks is that the front fireteam shock springs are longer and stiffer than the rear. The front springs are 85mm in length with a 6.91 lb/inch spring rate, where as the rear are 72mm in length with a 5.54 lb/inch spring rate. Even though the rear shocks are longer, they use the shorter springs than the front.

I purchased 4 rear fireteam shocks for my Kraton 6s since they were longer than the front just to even out. I had no idea that the springs had a lower spring rate than the front. I suppose if I bought 4 front shock springs it would give me a slightly stiffer spring rate than what I have now with a 6.91 vs 5.54.

LOL, this is probably why the fronts are OOS at Jenny's.

I’ve been using the fire team, front shock springs in the rear of my K6s EXB for sometime now they are quite a bit stiffer, and I can lighten the oil up. I did have to screw the collars down to make up the difference in the overall length.

I'm just looking for some aftermarket shock springs that are stiffer will fit the longer rear shocks.

Are the springs soft or something? The FT6 springs are some of the stiffest OEM springs and for bashing purposes, I would just go up on shock oil weight or change the shock pistons (they include them in those little baggies with the instruction manual). Personally I think the springs are more than enough.

For example, the stock shock oil weight is 1000cst (around 80wt) - you can change out the shock pistons to less/smaller holes and stick with the same 80wt oil or go up to 1200cst (same oil weight as the new Kraton 6S EXB v2). If you really want to go crazy, you can go with 2000cst all around like they did on the Talion 6S EXB.

I wouldn’t touch the springs, those aren’t the problem for bashing.

Great idea. It turns them into 'progressive' springs, similar to what I run on some of my 10th-scale TRX rigs.

Have you used the Integy springs? How are they? I bought some of the Hot Racing ones and they were all too stiff.

That was just the first random Google search image I could get for 'rc car progressive shock spring'. I just checked my AMZ history and I have only ever bought the Traxxas pairs.
