Well I def don't feel singled out on my issues, geez.

My excuse to the buying a RTR and wanting it to work out the box, is my time to work vs time to play. I basically have my lunch hour at work to play. And with a 2 yr old at home giving me grey hairs by the hour, i have no time to wrench at home even though I have a full shop. "Real cars" woodwork etc. I was just really hoping for 15-20 packs before a major service was needed. I am glad it is super easy to work on though so that is a plus. But just to fix this it will probably take me 3 weeks or so

Horizon really needs to get their crap together when it comes to the QC of their parts and the assembly of their cars. I'm done buying anything from them.

So check this out!!!! here below if the reply to my pictures of the melted diff..and my reply to that...well see how it goes....

"Hello, RANDY. Thanks for reaching out to AMain Hobbies. I'll help you in any capacity I can... apologies that things have ended up in a less-than-ideal situation. As a customer-turned-employee myself, I understand the frustration when things don't go as planned. We apologize for the delay. Our ticket system is still experiencing an extremely high volume of service tickets due to the extraordinary growth of our company. We are working on getting through all tickets as fast as possible and are rapidly expanding our customer service staff to get our response time back down to within 24 hours.

As a side note, because of the length of time you've had the machine and the parts we've replaced, it's prudent to note that this will be the last of the parts we'll replace under Warranty/Returns. The rig has been run pretty hard from what I can tell, so I need to compile a list of parts for rebuilding the differential. Do you know the part #s? Thanks.

Thanks again for contacting us. Please let me know and we'll go from there. Take care!

""""""Yea I am kinda regretting purchasing this vehicle with the hopes it would last longer than 10 packs without a full rebuild. I have been pouring over online stories of how badly this vehicle is put together from the factory especially since the price drop which I'm sure saw 1000s of sales. I am really confused how warranty can be voided with no proof of abuse. And it is a bit early to claim neglect I think.

Length of time??? I have only been able to run this car 8-9 times. I got the car on dec 7th, ran it about 5-6 times and the motor separated on the 14th or 15th, Found the faceplate screws pulled out of the body, got it back in the 20th or so. Another 3-4 runs, I had read up on all the issues these have out of the box and decided to do the diff shimming early and found this problem...

Unfortunately, I was unaware I had to remove the diffs to make sure they had fluid in them from the factory. Which caused the rear to overheat. And I was supposed to pull the motor out to see if the screws holding the faceplate on were not stripped. And make sure the bushings were actually installed on the rear shocks and not missing.

The reason I bought a RTR is because as a father I have about 1 hr to myself every day to go play.

Better to send a whole diff ara310957 but here should be the main pieces...

I would not make Amain pay for Horizons bs. Go straight to Horizon Hobby make them pay for it.

I do hope they are not paying for it and in turn request reimbursement from HH. Basically playing the middle man(the pretty face)
. They are sending me a diff and I have expressed gratitude and asked if future issues with motor/esc arise, should I contact HH directly. I will see what they say.

I'm not sure how that all works to be honest.

UPDATE...

Almost done getting it back together. I put the stock plastic center diff cover on and realized you could move the center diff up and down a little bit. So ordered hot racing cover ANN38C01 in hopes that holds it tighter. If not I can shim the red "ears" down to fit tight. Amain hobbies sent me a new complete diff ARA310957 and guess what!! No fluid inside. Basically just enough to wet it. BUT the bag was so sticky inside so im sure a lot leaked out.

Things done...
replaced all bearings with fast eddys kit
shimmed all 4 hubs to be snug.
shimmed all 3 diffs with mugen kit.
diff fluid 60/500/30
m2c outdrives on front and rear diffs.
Handbrake delete (may put it back on well see)
battery tray moved backwards.
hot racing diff support

future...
metal hubs with the larger bearings
chassis braces
3d printed rear motor support (friend working on this now)

In all honestly..
They're probably made/assembled by forced labor (CCP 's Uyghurs assembly plants) ,so the poor souls really don't even know what they are assembling...
I just watched a video on that uyghur poop and holy hell it was horrible. It's really really depressing what some people have to go through with no hope in sight. Seeing stuff like that makes me feel lucky to be an american even though it's definitely far from perfect.

The sad thing is that they really don't have any better options other than hooking or starving.

Yeah..
It's just Horrid!
Basically it's the EXACT same thing that happened in the Nazi Death Camps or the Stalin Gulags.

It's a very tough & nasty subject matter to talk about.. But these places Still exist in modern day , 2023. It's just crazy to imagine such a place..

It's actually Really sad..
We the consumer have been forced into this indoctrination of doing the Quality Check process for the CCP Assembly line.

We just don't realize it.
We don’t have to buy them 🤷🏻‍♂️ lol

And I don’t plan to anymore.. let’s do it y’all..

Whats really crazy to me is the fact that no one can do anything to stop it.

Hey! I haven't been complaining about my QC! I'm happy with majority of my arrma rigs out of the box. I still haven't had to check a single thing on my new fireteam! :ROFLMAO:

And that is why i will never buy a rtr 6s truck from arrma unless i have exb diffs to swap. poop thats what i did wih my noto i had 3 exb diffs Ready to go so bought the noto threw the stock diffs out the window And smashed the exb in. The rtr diffs are okay for the onroad trucks and on the typhon but on monster trucks or truggies with massive tires its a receipt for disaster. Sure people will tell you to cut a piece of tool steel bits and use them as pins.... but the sun gears will still shadder. Im not going to skooby doo diffs dude should be one of the things that shouldnt need any fix done to it. Took arrma 4-5 years to fix it but they still sell the problem..

Yep but apparently that poop is a “conspiracy” aka going to be true in a few years
Its sad that everything we like is made in china. Our RC’s, car parts Even my 3d printers all made in china. Even my filaments...
Sending jobs overseas and encouraging bussiness in china is what has caused this massive issue. Even part of our vital active ingredients for our meds come from there. Like jesus christ

Stripping down the diffs just now to find this.. this is what happens when you have no diff fluid in your diffs. It came out the box with probably just a drop of fluid. At first I thought it was just thin fluid when driving it. But yea this is no fluid. The outdrives are mushroomed so I cant take them out and the steel insert has seperated form the plastic housing. I am learning plenty of lessons with this car haha

Don't feel so bad.
Mine was assembled by a whole crew of 2 year olds. Same with numerous others, having (9)Arrma 6s rigs in all.
INNER Hub BB's exploding only 3 minutes into the first run etc. A joke. Differentials that are always low on oil. No wonder why your diffs are all jacked up.
If you don't completely disassemble your FT out the box, and I mean every single part, even right down to the motor BB's etc. ( need oil on them) you won't discover every flaw. Or most of them. Some just plain 2 year old mistakes. China is going through some hard times right now and this past year. Their labor force in many factories are stretched out very thin. Moral is very poor. Like 75% have Covid or a new strain of it. People are dying in droves. The Gov't is horrible. No Covid meds available for the sick. Their Covid testing kits are flawed. I don't blame the people. CCP won't take meds from other countries. Gov't is in denial, yet killing off their people. With their own invented Bio warfare disease that they created. Gov't ego gets in the way of any common sense. China is tanking right now.
HH should take their production elsewhere. Maybe Taiwan, etc. . Might just cost more to do this.. Sucks that HH can't do a thing about it. Except offer the FireTeam at a Fire Sale price. Which they did recently and sold thousands of the FT's. Many new to Arrma are ending up here on Arrmaforum. Count your blessings that you only paid $400. for it. Hope you did. As I did. I never would have bought it otherwise. At all.
I would Call HH and let them know of all the parts you need due to poor QC at the factory. They absolutely know what crap they are selling. And usually own up. Get a parts list with numbers together. Also send them Pix. What I would do, and recently did with my FT. And have done many times past. I noticed Many stripped out plastics also. Drives me crazy!!! This really $adds$ up if you have to replace/buy them yourself. Use the 2 HH Year warranty.
Good luck.
"Out the box" Arrma RTR's ALL suck. Just rebuild them when new before running them, and they are very good rigs. Designed fairly well by Arrma, UK.
Tip:
use 60k front/ 500k center/ 30k Rear diff oils, when you rebuild all of them. Need to check ALL 3 diffs . Empty out, clean well with Auto Brake cleaner spray, each part and gear, then refill them with these proper CST oils. Sparing you grief down the road. Very important to SHIM the Fr and Rr diffs also. Use the include shims in the box.

In the past 5 years I've only gone through like maybe 8 RTR diffs, 4 of them were from when I first got it and had no idea what I was doing, I've broken 2 diff pins and broke 2 diff out drives but I have not broken any of the internal gears amazingly. But that being said the RTR diffs are rather pathetic when compared to other 1/8th scale diffs on the market. Just check out the diffs for a Tekno, HB Racing or the HPI Vorza and you will see what I'm talking about.

Let me find a picture of the Arrma diffs next to the diffs out of a Hot Bodies D8T, these are the same diffs that come stock in the HPI Vorza except for the aluminum diff pin.

Arrma on top Hot Bodies on the bottom.

Regarding the RTR diff pins. Sometimes you get lucky and Arrma pins are just fine. And then you get a batch that split into 3 pieces, taking out your Sun Gear, toast, along with the satellite gears.

I Dremel cut my Diff pins now from HS drill bit blanks or drill bit shanks. I have great luck with them now. Never broke one yet. Just make sure to cut them to fit exactly as stockers and also Round out the edges VERY well! Most important. Always checking the fit inside a loose Sun gear by hand. They will last. The Sun gears will split apart before the pin does. (y) Arrma Diff gears are not Machined. They are Sintered "Cast" metal. Why they wear out easily. Heavier diff oils make them last longer from my experience. Changing out the oil every 15-20 runs makes them last longer. Also, the initial fill of oil is the breakin oil. Since they are not machined, the gears need to break-in/ bed in to each other. The oil becomes very dark from the gears soft cast metal wear.
My Tekno diffs are bullet proof out the box.

I thought Tekno was made in Taiwan.
I know it is a US company.(y) Mexico makes sense. Very close to Tekno's Headquarter's.
