Gear mesh issues.

After replacing the spur gear the truck ran well. I thought it was all good. Got it out today and very light turnover caused to mesh to separate. This happened twice today. Easy little roll and I'm immobile. Brought it in and set the mesh again and it's up and running. What would cause the mesh to keep slipping out like this? I tightened the screw as tight as I could.

Not using loctite, otherwise the set screw can and will back out.

I suggest using Blue Loctite and I prefer the stick applicator myself - no leaks, drips and doesn't dry up like the liquid can if you leave it uncapped.

I thought about that, but when I was checking it the second time, the screw was still tight. I had to loosen it to reset the mesh. I'll try putting some on there and see what happens.
