So after my appointment at the hospital this morning, and waiting for some parts, I decided to strip the Kraton even more, and learn about the beast. Did well considering I don't have a manual 😁
Took the centre diff out, gave it a quick look over. Seems there's some pretty thick diff fluid in there. Don't know what K it is, but it's thick. Front diff feels good too. Also checked and cleaned the bearings. No damage. Cleaned up the motor mount, and surrounding areas. Sprayed some CRC 808 Silicone on the arms and diff housings. Now it's looking almost new.
Question time. What diff fluids should I use for just general bashing?
Does the silicone ear plug thing really make a difference?
Cheers.

I prefer thicker than most.
60k/1m/60k or even 2m in the center.
Most prefer a bit lower.
30k/500k/30k
Neither is better/worse, but it does change how it handles.
Ear plugs will basically lock up the diff or result in something similar to 2m. It's a bit of trial an error as you won't get a specific value from pureed foam. Not a fan of it, but plenty have done it with no ill effect. Bonus, it's free for many.

Most prefer pretty thick fluids for bashing.
It prevents diffing out. Otherwise said, ginormous differences in wheel speeds left and right. That causes tires to blow and diffs to heat up.
Thick center diff fluid also prevents too much difference, but front and rear. It prevents ballooning front tires. It may cause some more tendency to wheelie and drift.
For racing it is all a bit more nuanced.
Thinner fluids handle better and result im better lap times. It all depends on grip and preferences.
