LiPo batteries will only catch fire when:
When just stored dry and not in a place where heat is, basically nothing can go wrong.
- being charged (and the unlikely case things go horribly wrong with too high currents and/or too high voltage)
- being discharged in a wrong way (inside your RC for example)
- getting seriously hot
- punctured, or seriously damaged
- short circuited
Nevertheless it is advisable to store in a fireproof lipobag, just in case anything goes wrong. Or an ammo box like Woodie has...difficult to get in Europe though...
Ok when you say heat
How hot excatly are we talking about?
I don't want to keep a lipo inside my house
I do have a small shack next to the house
That is all open
Might get 82 deg the hottest under that shack
Will that be fine to store a lipo
Its not in direct sunlight
