Arrma RC's
  1. Mojave EXB
  2. Infraction 4x4
The other day I bought a used Mojave EXB on FB marketplace for a great price, great condition too. It was a pretty spur of the moment decision. I had been indecisive on whether I should get a Kraton 6s or the Big rock 223s. The Mojave was never a part of the equation, but when the opportunity presented itself- I went for it… and it’s growing on me! It looks so much better in person than pictures give it credit for! With it being my first 6s rig there’ll definitely be a learning curve, and once my new batteries come in (and the crappy weather goes away) I’ll be able to give it a proper run! As far as electronics, it came with the Felony stuff, stock Mojave gearing as far as I can tell, and a 60kg servo. All in all a pretty big step up from my infraction 3s. As far as upgrades go- I bought the scorched mudguards and that will be my starting point. Not that it needs upgrades bcz it’s very much capable as it is, but would you guys have any recommendations on what to do next? This is an older exb model but I still want to be on par with the new releases (looking at you Kraton exb)😂. Sorry for the super long paragraph, I’m just excited about this

That's awesome man. The inner fender wells are a must. I prefer to drive in the dirt or sand. It wants to traction roll in the grass. Enjoy.

Good buy! Harder to find decent condition used. Aside from the fenders which you already have i recommend the +2 hexes from m2c. Stops the wheels working loose which is a problem on the mojave.

As said above theyconstantly roll over in grass when turning, the stiffest option springs and a bit of suspension tuning turns it into a completely different truck, goes from rolling on every turn to a drifting beast. Enjoy! 👍

The Mojaves are very well designed.
The bumpers, body and roll cage protect the car against damage from roll overs and small crashes.
If this is your first 6s, though, i would recommend not driving it full throttle 6s power, untill you are used to the power, speed and handling. These cars are so fast, any wrong move can send them flying and cartwheeling. Because of their weight, that does a lot of damage you may not notice right away, because of the body, but we bent rear center drive shafts, all hinge pins, hinge pin retainers, Ackerman bars, shock shafts, chassis, ovalled hinge pin holes in the arms, tore rear t2t brace mount, batteries flying, diffs stripped, and ripped bumpers and bumper mounts and bodies to shreds. All because we weren't familiar with the cars and got overly excited and confident.
Now, don't think this means the cars aren't good, the Mojaves are tanks, but nothing survives 50+ mph crashes without damaging something. So my advice is don't go there yet. Run it on 4s, or dial the throttle down.
Go easy and work your way up and you will enjoy that car. Guaranteed.
As for upgrades. I'd keep it stock untill you break things.

Thanks a lot! I’ll definitely keep these things in mind. I’ll drive it nice and slow first chance I get🤣. But yeah I was doing some reading and the m2c hexes are next on my list. I guess one of my main concerns would be having to do maintenance after every run. The kind of upgrades I’m leaning towards are the ones that will lengthen the gap between these maintenance sessions. Not that I don’t enjoy the maintenance, but it’s hard to find the time being a college student and all😅

I drove my Mojave for first time yesterday and it’s crazy strong, kicks up earth like nobody’s business! But I noticed that the car accelerates in reverse substantially quicker than it does going forward 🤔, anybody know why that is?

👍
It has the stock Arrma ESC, right?
I bet the previous owner had another system in there, and switched to this one, just before selling it to you.
But that's oke. It seems to be in working order. He just has not tested or calibrated it.
If all else is working fine, all you have to do, is switching any 2 motor cables to change motor direction.

I think I fixed that issue by calibrating the throttle endpoints. The person I bought it from was running a different rx and tx so imagine that was the cause of it in the first place. Now I’m just waiting on all the snow to melt…

I'm thinking of running a smc lipo alarm in my rig but I'm unsure if it would negatively interfere with my batteries. I run two 3s batteries, would I connect the alarm to just one of the balance ports or would I need to connect an alarm to both of them?

This question is still up in the air😅
