Got a new ezrun max 5 calibrated it but when I throttle it or reverse it the motor turns a little then quits and red light comes on on the esc can't

New HW there... sounds like you need to warranty ASAP, while it's still under warranty right now.
Assuming you checked all your wiring and Calibrated ESC to your Tx properly., motor checks out well, and the servo is is NOT a Spektrum one. Spek. servos are known to short out the BEC circuit of any ESC. Can't rule this out.
Just my thoughts.
