What about the gears and differential?
They are made out of plastic for the BLS versions. Only BLX and the old MEGA's have metal gears and diff's.

Do they hold up against these upgraded power plants?

The gears I don´t recall if they are made of plastic. I think they are metal. The housing is all plastic. Everything it´s fine with the diff.
I´m thinking about changing to 50k. I´ll decide after I ran my granite at the local track next sunday.
