Hi everyone. Getting back into RV's after a long time off. Only used to drive tamiya's.
Anyway I was going to buy a traxxas slash but thank god there are non in stock anywhere so I searched and came accross the granite 3s blx. It seems to fit what I need, mainly durable and fun. I only haveca week to get one because I'm moving out of country and they're cheaper where I am.
Anyway, I was also considering the Kraton 6s or maybe a traxxas max but really don't want to spend that much... These are basically the 3 choices I'm able to find in stock. I do like the outcast but not in stock and prob less durable.
Just wondering what opinions you guys have?

Thanks,

Rich

Welcome to the forum.. ?.. I would recommend you get the new kraton exb roller if your into the 6s line kratons.. then hit up ebay for a 6s blx 185 esc and motor.. then grab a radio and one servo of your liking and have a damn solid rig for the money... dollar for dollar hands down the best value out there right now for a new comer.... of course this is my opinion, but I would tend to think many will agree..✌

If you can find a 4s outcast or kraton they are the best bang for buck imo

Kraton 6.years ago traxxas was at the top.i will never own them again. More cost, slower, harder to work on,less durable.kraton 6s is more fun than is allowed.buy arrma u won't regret.i put over 700+$ building slash 4x4. Then bout 300$ senton an was blown away by difference. Both 3s.escort vs mustang gt difference

Thanks for the info. Just not positive I want to spend that much off the bat. In canada it's going to end up costing me double what the granite would cost me and I'm starting to think I'd have just as much fun with the granite anyway. Can always give it to my son later and by myself a kraton ;)

I agree the 3s line is just as fun.. and I understand the Canada resident thing.. but, for sure do some reading into what your buying before stepping into the 3 or 4s line.. they need money as well even out of the box.. that being said, cost goes up slightly..

I'm not trying to sway you one way or the other cause they are all good rigs imo.. but definitely do some research on here and weigh the cost and the options obtained for that cost..

Again welcome..?

Thanks. I've been doing nothing but reading for the past few weeks :) but mainly on traxxas. For the past 5 days I've been reading up on arrma's and they're more my style I think. I'm leading more towards the granite because it seems more entry level for me.

Excellent, either way you can not go wrong.. ?..

Really can’t go wrong with a granite, some minor and inexpensive upgrades and it’s a 3s tank that’s stupid fun. You may want to check on parts availability for where you’re moving, that part of the world may be easier or more difficult depending on brand.

Freak they sold the orange one I wanted now only have 1 of the red and blue ones left. Can you tell me the cheap upgrades I should order? I'll have to order first thing in the morn and get fast shipping before I move.

Thanks,

Rich

You’ll need a cheap dumbo rc transmitter before even running it. The stx2 lag is horrible
A new servo and servo saver could be nice. I believe there are some driveline problems but I will let someone else fill in so I don’t mislead anyone
Oh yeah you can always buy a clear body and paint it

I “got stuck” with the red blue also, but its really grown on me. Rpm arms and a bearings kit for sure because you’re bound to break an arm at some point and the stock bearings are ok, but will also eventually fail. A 25kg dsservo from amazon wouldn’t be a bad idea either, keep stock one for a spare just in case. Radio upgrade would be nice if you can get the Cheap dumborc In time. Flysky is another option but a little bit more money. Also don’t forget a set of hex drivers so you can work on it yourself. 1.5,2,2.5,3mm set will do the entire truck. @Johndilly1974 recommended a set for me and I really like them. Don’t get overwhelmed either, I know it kind of sounds like a lot, but these trucks are super easy to work on, just do one mod at a time and by the time you’re done you’ll be very familiar with the truck.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I'm usually one to search for the info but this is crazy moving time so this helps so much!

Funny after all of this, the store apologized because their inventory was wrong and there is no granite available... There is literally nothing out there but I found one store that has a black Notorious 6s blx 4wd or Kraton 6s.... so I'm leaning towards the Notorious because I love the look.

Notorious will be better for backflips, Kraton will be more stable at higher speeds and in rough terrain. Depends on what you think you'll be doing more. As far as the Granite goes, it's probably a good thing the store was out of stock. If you can wait, Arrma just updated the 3s line. The new Granite has most of the recommended upgrades right out of the box. I would probably still add a wider stance, but otherwise it has just about all the upgrades I put into my Granite.

Thanks. I'm moving out of country so can't really wait too long. Only have a couple weeks. My street will be mostly dirt and gravel, very rough. I'll mostly be using it there. Maybe at the beach once in a while.

Out of them 3, Granite, the other 2 will cost you a arm and leg.
