Arrma RC's
  1. Kraton 6s
So I too after 5 packs thru this Kraton have developed a grinding sound. Sounded like it was coming from the rear so I pulled the diff out. No abnormal wear, broken teeth, pinion looks good too. So I take remove the whole rear end and find this. Wtf?? What next? Like how does this even happen. What upgrade do I have to dish out for now to fix another unnecessary problem

It’s even rubbing the bearing inside smh. I removed the pinion to try spin the diff freewheel cause I could still feel some contact somewhere.

Either way I’d remove the battery from the chassis before doing all that.

No I didn’t dig any deeper into it. Fixed the broken outdrive and sold it. She gone.

Glad you sold it, people are paying top dollar for RC's right now. Some more for used than if they waited for the new ones to come back into stock.

Was more interested in why it happened so if it happens to me I can save time. Looking at your posts made me understand why you were dumping it so quickly.

I got my asking price of $700 for it on a local buy and sell site which I’m happy with. Still at a loss considering I had to buy a new $70 diff just to get an outdrive from just so I could sell it. Oh well. I can’t say I never tried arrma.

As for the new xmaxx, about 10 packs ran thru it, cartwheeled across the lawn several times, hundreds of jumps, and all out bashing, and so far only one broken front bumper brace ($10.99) and a few dings in the body. Not a single cent spent anywhere else. Still completely stock. No mods needed.
