  1. Granite
I had a hard time choosing which car I wanted, given my agreed upon budget of around $300.
I was in between the Granite, Typhon, and Big Rock BLX and was having a real tough time choosing after spending hours looking up videos and reviews.
Then I looked at the specs and part trees of all three and came up with a plan. I could have a mix of all three.
I started with the Granite for its short wheelbase since I wanted something easier to flip and bash around at the skate park, and the BR and Typhon seemed to have the same longer wheelbase.

I like the wider stance and wanted a little more stability when doing quick cornering, so I got the BR/Typhon arms.

Something about the wings on the back of the Kratons spoke to me and I wanted one too. Since the body on the granite is pretty narrow, I went with the 175mm wing from the Typhon 6S. The 224mm Kraton wing was just too big and looked silly and the 202mm Talion wing looked good too, but was thinking it as well might be too wide.
If someone can tell me the width of the 4x4 Kraton wing #AR480012, that might be helpful.

The tall body seemed to make mounting a wing weird, so I designed and printed a wing spacer out of TPU. 25mm high and gives me something to carry the truck by.

I like the look of the roll hoop set on the Outkast and thought it might be useful for attaching a 3D printed roof skid.

I also went for bringing the body down a bit, I wasn't much of a fan of the profile view with the high walls of the guards, and got the Typhon body mounts.

It is still a work in progress and am upgrading little bits here and there, like getting rid of the lag with the radio and went with the DumboRC 6CH. Might design and print a new wheel for it so I can use foam on the outside like the Spektrum radios.
Upgraded the steering linkage since there was so much slop to some Alu. GPM linkage set, keeping the factory servo saver. It was not tracking very well on rough asphalt due to so much play.

I love jumping this guy at the local skatepark but hate how it bottoms out, even when I land evenly (esp. from 10+ feet), so I ordered some ZD racing 1/8 buggy shocks, going from (eye to eye) 105 to 120 mm in the front and 115 to 130 in the rear. Hopefully that might cushion the falls a bit better.

Had this problem with the motor mounting bracket. Looks like motor mounting hardware is digging in to red aluminum mounting plate, possibly from chassis slams from high jumps.
Well, this caused misalignment for the spur and pinion, making the metal pinion gear shred the plastic spur gear.
I don't know why they didn't put washers on the hardware to spread the load.
I put some on myself and a little blue loctite.

Also used JohnDilly's video on adjusting the slipper. It seemed a tad tight.

***Just had a new forum member request the parts used, so I thought I would add it to the build thread for anyone's reference!***

Parts I used:
AR320455 - REAR WING MOUNT - a must
AR320454 - BUMPER SET - optional but the stock bumper looks strange with the wing mount
AR320452 - BODY MOUNT SET - the granite body sits too high to mount the wing, and I still had to 3D print a riser (let me know if you want to file or me to print one out for you) - makes it look meaner too
AR320357 - BODY POST SET - need these for the mount set, and gives you mounting options
AR480015 - TRUCK ROLL HOOP SET - see images on how to attach (its a bit of a squeeze)
- Optional hardware for the roll hoop: AR702002, AR721312, AR727410 (unless you have M2.5, M3, and M4 screws)

And the wing is up to your flavor.
I used the Typhon 6S wing ARA480018 (175mm wide)
but the following may work:
AR480013 - outcast 4S wing
AR480016 - typhon mega/3S wing
AR480011 - talion wing (202mm might be a tad wide)
AR480012 - kraton 4S wing (again, might be a tad wide)

If you find yourself rolling too much and wand more sideways stabilization, you might be interested in widening the track (get longer suspension arms).
Here is the list of parts to do so:
AR330543 - FRONT SUSPENSION ARMS (2pcs)
AR330540 - REAR SUSPENSION ARMS (2pcs)
AR330542 - STEEL TURNBUCKLE M4x48mm (Black) (2pcs) <- you'll need 3 pairs of these

The great thing about these, is that so many parts are interchangeable! Just open up the "Interactive Exploded View" on the car pages and compare the parts to see just how much they share!
Here are some pics for reference:

Notice how much the stock bumper covers the grille with the lower body (does not really change the center of mass either) and need to make new holes

3D modeled and printed wing riser to raise the wing's edge up from sitting on the body, very secure and resilient to impacts (made from TPU), and the optional rear bumper ***THIS WING RISER IS SMALLER THAN THE ONE FROM ABOVE AND MUCH MORE SECURE***

You can see how much the top back edges were chewed up after 3 or 4 outings without a wing (actually had to fill the holes), you will also have to trim the body for the wing mount

Mounting holes for the hoop and you can see the famous drywall tape and shoe goo method

the changed front posts

the rear posts actually keep the wing mount very secure

@julioemos

Very pretty!

Mine sees a lot of pavement.
Had to chase a wheel yesterday, the splined wheel axle came out with the bearings.
We'll see the next set of parts I need to replace!

Thinking now about upgrading to the typhon 17mm hexes, much stronger, but it also means i will have to get new wheels ?‍♂️

How are those ZD shocks holding up? I keep looking at them and then thinking better of it.
