This is a build thread mainly for my own amusement and to keep track of progress/changes I’ve made. I’m not real good at these build logs, so bare with me.
Well.. I couldn’t resist.. Just had to have one of those smaller infractions, mega to be precise. Kinda had a hard time deciding on a color, wanted green at first, then I saw the red one up close at my lhs, I was sure red was it after seeing it in person, but after much consideration I went with my gut. (first choice)
This is my first 3s rig! so I’m sure there’ll be a few things I’m not quite familiar with.. That’s where the brain trust comes in.
Anyhoo.. let’s get this sh!t roll’n
Fresh off the FedEx truck today, couldn’t wait to tear into it!
First thing I did, other than suck in all that fresh rc smell we all know and love.
Was rip out all the brushed crap
If anybody wants to buy the stock electronics or Rx/Tx let me know or it’s most likely going on flea bay.
Second thing was take apart the spur/slipper assembly. I removed the stock 57T and replaced it with the vendetta 50T.
After the slipper, I put the center driveshaft support and bearing in.
Next was to loosely fit the caste stuff.
I still need a pinon (26T in route), fasten down the esc, new DS servo on the way, solder on a connector (QS8 probably ) tidy up the wiring and of course more upgrades!
That’s about as far as I got today, to be continued…
Also wondering what fluids everyone suggests for the F/R diffs? I know the manual says 10k front and grease in rear..?
My plan is basically just Hoon’n around like it’s big bro.
