What do you use to check the motor heat, esc heat etc?

Infrared temp gun. I should buy a new one... I have a really old one I got at radio shack 15+ years ago for nitro. There used to be 20+ of them that were RC branded/specific, but not nearly as many around these days that I've found.

You must have som big issues with bearings somewhere, or to oversized Pinion to Main Gear Failure here.
Bigger tyres need smaller Motor Pinion many times if you run it LONG TIME.

Service is very important also.
Change diff oil.
Used Car ?
You always need change all oils.
don't ever trust others in this Special Case
