so this is what I’m working with right now , i just upgraded to the motor and esc combo (Spektrum Firma 85A Brushless Smart ESC / 3300Kv Sensorless Motor and Esc) along with some new lipo 2s batteries (5200mah 7.4v.) also have a new spur gear and pinion (both upgraded) coming in a few days. my truck originally went around 19-20 mph stock. after these said upgrades, it goes around 23-25 mph. i’m trying to see if anyone knows some settings of the esc and motor maybe that i don’t know about that i may have missed in the manual about faster speed wise. if not, any suggestions for future purchases that anyone would think that would increase the speed of this truck?

Welcome to the forum. It might be cheaper to buy a different machine. 🤷‍♂️ . Just a thought.

+1 on 3s, it will liven up the truck significantly. I wouldnt gear up though with the 85amp esc yet though, as mentioned 85 amp isnt enough to really pish the truck proper so keeping a lower gear ratio isnt a bad thing.
In general with all else being equal, an increase in volts = more speed, increase in amps = more torque.

My son has almost the same exact set up (even Zee 2s lipo) on his Mega.
Got him the 85amp combo as I was tired of replacing brushed motors but keep things in check as he's only 8 years old.

Was thinking of upping the spur gear before "graduating" him to 3s.
Sounds like I should probably just wait to move him straight to 3s.

Thanks everyone!

Iv got a similar setup in my kids. Was mega, now 80amp brushless on 2s. Its pretty similar to the mega in terms of performance, but don't need to replace the motor every other week and runs ice cold.
He will graduate to my old 120a next week and a bigger pinion. Hes gotta finish a few more chores first...
The 80a on 3s would do about the same thing though, with cooler temps vs the 120a.
