That was only just added after the threat of litigation, they are grasping at straws and are starting to Panic, trying to cover up what's going on..

Yeah, having their account put on Freeze for a couple of weeks Will get their attention the Most -for stealing others designs/creations.

These online platforms should crack the whip on these Leachers..

I love it, now this company is trying to bribe me monetarily to now release the files to them..🤣🤣🤣🤣... Not only that, they want me to tell them what files are in violation of the license...🤣🤣🤣🤣... Probably should have figured that out before they stole them for commercial use... 😉

I love when they incriminate themselves further..😉..

Yup this sucks for sure.

I see a few things that over lap, I'm sure we could go through the list and trace them all back to Thingiverse

One course of action is to file a complaint with Ebay. If they don't boot the guy, then have a lawyer draft a letter and make them comply. They have deep pockets and don't want to get into it. You file a law suit, in small claims court.

The precedence has been set with Youtube, Napster, etc that the owner of the website has some liability in their content.

In the end, if it's posted in the public domain, you have to assume that someone, some where will use it outside the terms of service.
That print Quality looks so bad
i made some stuff for my arrmas i have so thingiverse stuff but everything i created from A to Z on CAD software i plan to sell on marketplace in the future. I have like 60$ in Rc parts not much. I also have designed A shock station and shock bottle older. I could have just taken the thingiverse file and sell it because it has the open domain license so anyone can do anything with it but i didnt. It did inspire me On my final design but thats about it. I want to make a bit of money out of what makes get up of bed(ik that doesn't sound right ask my brain). I designed yesterday an accesory for my blower to increase the air pressure. I don't have a air compressors or willing to spend money for one just to blow dust of my RC’s, decided to use what i have

@Camaroboy383 - does the listed price change your opinion on this topic?

For example, if I know someone who needs a file printed from thingiverse and they don’t have a printer, is it okay for me to print it for them? Is your opinion different if I charge enough to cover filament/shipping versus charging more to pursue profit?

Thats printing on demand you can print and sell it to the person. You act as the employee* in that case. People run bussinesses out of this just don't advertise the prints you made as yours. Some creators will specificly say on their description to not use their design as the cover page or examples in ur website

Absolutely that's no problem at all for you, or anyone to print a bunch, and charge what it cost's to make, say for friends and family..And of course there are and will always be behind the scenes transfer's far from the public eye...

But to pull a profit, (because we know there is no gain in printing it for nothing besides the actual cost's) in a business setting presented to the world is where its blatant infringement on the license agreement..

As @Surchaufeur mentioned.. There are also public domain files that people can do anything they like with them, including offering them for profit in a store setting..👍
