So I purchased this limitless off of a forum member (Gotnitro) and I received it in a speedy manner and in excellent condition, with every carbon fiber accessory I could think of, pps mount, GRP wheels, and not a scratch on it. So I’m trying to do this starting point justice. Although the bar is high. Here we go.
I was going to use an esc I had already and a new motor (surpass 4092 1420kv) but quickly decided I wanted the XLX2 lol…. I’m not very patient with purchases I want lol…. I am still going to use the motor I got as a starter till I know what I want next. TP, castle, nue, or cordova. I made myself a set of 63mm wide side skirts for the jag gt body I bought for this build, and I finished and installed them today, and I must say I did an excellent job. Following the raz shifter method of glueing the 2 cf pieces together to trim and drill the holes. They ended up fitting under the side skirts that were there so I didn’t need to counter sink the holes they just slid in perfectly… I mounted the motor on the pps mount and made up the bullets that go from 6.5mm to 8mm on the esc (I still need to heat shrink over the bullets connections together before running. I soldered on my xt150’s to the esc and did a little wire management, (may be changed a few times) I installed the servo and am not happy with the stock linkage, so I will need a different linkage. I ordered a few bearings from avid to try on my spool in the car, and the ones et the best spin time
I managed to get a few mirrors at the dump this morning approximately 10” x 30” in size. The mirrors are to lay out some carbon fiber test sheets I want to make my own center brace with. The local dump gets lots of things to use for diy projects.. so I may test that out tomorrow. Now I need to figure out how to cut my body right. I think the wing will stay on, but I’m not sure. There’s not a lot of videos on cutting the gt body for a limitless. I think I’ve seen all I can find like earls, any of raz’s I’ve found. I know that your supposed to get the front and sides as close to or touching the splitter/side skirts. So I’ll see how it goes, I’m still waiting on the body mounts to arrive. Here’s some pics
