I just received my hobbystar 4082 and I don't have any experience with the hobbystar or the leopard products. I just installed it and it seems awfully loud almost too loud. does anybody else have this experience and is it because it's just a new motor or am I missing something. The gear mesh is fine.

what part about it is loud? remove the pinion and see if its just the motor.
If its not gearing I would just run it, nothing to lose. I also recommend calling their support and ask them, they would know best if there is any concerns, and at least if they say its fine and it ends up being messed up then you may go back and reference the fact that you said it was off before then they should warranty it.

Thanks for the response. But I figured it out, I just made a simple mistake and ordered a pinion gear that was slightly smaller pitch. It's okay I can use my 14 tooth for now and I will reorder the correct size
