Found a heatsink that should work out well. Now need to figure out a mounting plate for fan(s). Not really a metal fab guy though. Check out my quick markup for the idea ?

I just used the yeah racing twin fan setup on mine. But thats looks different the one you got
Looks chunky!
I put the YeahRacing dual on my 2.0 E-Revo and liked it. Should've taken it off before I sold but I was happy to get what I got.

Sorry to revive old post, am thinking to get the 4985 also but struggling to find the heatsink. Hope you can help share your setup a bit. As I understand YR Twin Fan heatsink (using it now in stock BLX185) diameter is 40mm, how do you fit it in 4985? is it bent-able enough and use longer screw to mount the bottom part?

I ended up installing an x-Maxx heatsink mentioned by @Overpowerrc ??

not sure if I require a fan yet since I haven’t run it, but geared pretty tall with 25t pinion in the redcat be6s/tm bes.

I heard this one will fit with some stretching, I’ll find out soon when my Max6 combo shows up. ?

It fits. That's what i am using. It doesn't sit well around the motor which wouldn't transfer heat as well. But it works... you also have to notch it a bit to fit the kraton.... I will take pics if needed

You want my honest opinion? The stock motor is all you need.... think about it. The stock motor can easily do a standing backflip... why would you need more??? My 4985 is fun and all but it isn't often I get above 1/2 throttle because of all the torque.

 this seems the closest fit (48mm dia). and i might don't need a fan if i use decent pinion/gearing... might try this one.

you’re right, with 44mm dia might need a bit stretching, but might fit better than the YR ones. appreciated if you can share the result later :)

thanks for the confirmation but if it doesn't sit well then might only be half useful? if you got pics that would be awesome! :)

I can go flat all the time and have max punch 500k centre. 18t and can get top speed np without stupid wheelies only drive dirt and grass but. I just cant go back to stock lol. Depends what you want I guess nothing wrg with stock but I had to have more.

I run a 23t that definitely adds a lot of kick off the line. That max6 4985 combo loves the taller gears.

That’s purdy ??
Yeah it's a work in progress. Lol. It is going to be a tri fan setup. All the wiring is there just been to lazy to put it all together. It's cold and snowy here so I have a couple months to push it off lol

Hi Guys,

Reviving this thread again.
So I've got the 4985 using the Xmaxx heatsink on my EXB. (Heavily modified I might add)

My question is, what temps are you guys getting? I had it running on a 20t pinion, stock spur with dual fans and it was too hot to touch. (Not hitting thermal cutoff tho)

Moved it down to a 16t thinking it will cut down on the heat, but haven't tested it yet. How can I run this on a 20t and not get these high temps?

145-150F after a full pack with full size backflips on a 20t
120-125 after full pack on katars on a 20t

what tires are you running and what temps are you seeing?
