Arrma RC's
I just ordered the hobbywing 4985 motor after seizing up my hobbystar 4092 today. What kind of gearing and temps are you guys getting with the 4985?

I am running stock spur and 18t pinion with the @Mr.Duke dual fan bracket with dual 30mm Trackstar fans, with an ambient temp outside of 92*F after half a pack the hottest temp I registered on the non fan side of the motor was 167*F.

I run a similar dual fan set up in the kraton with a 20t pinion. It gets in the 170-180 pretty quick in the summertime. My hex6 will generally thermal before my motor gets too hot. Without the fans it ran very hot so I strongly advise rigging something up unless you don't mind gearing down.

I was afraid of having to run a fan. Does MrDuke regularly sell those mounts?

What speed should I expect in the kraton with backflips and a 19t pinion?

I am running the MAX6 and the 1650kv on a 20tooth pinion with 6s. My temps have been great even without the fans. I’m mostly just doing stunts and bashing it not a ton of straight line runs, but even when I’ve done those my temps are at like 130. So not bad at all. Here is one of the many running videos. But I check temps on this video. Bash on brothers I love this power plant, just be aware you need more space and I find it difficult to get to full throttle with this setup. That all said it depends on your climate the day of this video it 85 outside.

Really!?! I was expecting more like 55

I cant remember the size of the backflips tires so I just guessed and put 6.2 inches.

Adding in the proper tire size brings the speed up to a hair under 75 mph.
