Anyone know if this works on the max 5 & 6 ? Also has anyone updated firmware successfully as well ?

There’s an update firmware button on the HW app

Thanks brothers !!! Ordering now. Hobbywing won’t answer my emails: I even wrote one in Chinese via Google translator and I still cannot get a reply. Very annoying.

The HW BT adapter I use on my Max5 made me buy the Castle BT adapter for the MMX8s. They work great
They say not to leave them attached while driving, but removing them defeats the purpose in my mind. If I have to open it up to wire the adapter in, may as well just use a cheap led/lcd box.
Just use some double stick tape to keep it from flopping around.

Does the data log work with the max5 and give you the additional features you are missing from using the standard programing box? Temped to get one if so.
