Hey everyone!

Gonna try and start keeping a thread on my BRCC, mods, journey to 4s…yada yada.

Anyhow, sitting stock today but I’m already stocking the parts bin and have stuff arriving almost every day.

Remaining 17mm conversion parts should arrive soon along with the Proline Badlands MX 2.8 & aluminum hex adapters.

Mojave shocks will go on this weekend as will the Kratons for the rear. Wasn’t paying attention and ended up getting the Mojave EXB for the front and regular Kraton 6s for the rear Hopefully that combo will work.

Running Zee batteries but would like to pick up a couple SMC.

Completely forgot to include my first ‘breakage’ lol.

All fixed now but the left front steering block gave after multiple sends at the local spot.

The big rock is a great car subscribed

Btw I ve done some of the 4s upgrade, such as full metal rear diff. It feels so good in the hand when its all metal. Btw save the money, you don't need metal in the front if you use smth like 20k rear and 30k front diff setup

Thanks for the tip! Metal diffs are on my to do list. Good to know I can start with the rear and maintain the front until it needs rebuilt.


Houston, we have contact. Started installing the Mojave 6s shocks and must have missed something in my reading.

The info is probably right there in the shock upgrade thread.

Gonna need to shim the bottom. These things are beefy!

Have fun with it...easy fix on the shock touching the driveshaft. Yes shim or I just added an M3 nut...

One thing I like about the BR it had a wider stance. Adding M2C 17mm hex extensions on just made the stance and lack of flipping even better.

When done...make it look good add some lights to complete the look

One thing I like about the BR it had a wider stance. Adding M2C 17mm hex extensions on just made the stance and lack of flipping even better.

Damn that truck looks awesome.

I was on the fence with the M2C adapters/spacers. Seems like some have had issues with them staying in place. Ended up getting the larger Arrma wheel axles and other stock pieces needed to complete the conversion.

Not sure if I’ll add lights as this will continue seeing air time. Probably break those lights within the first pack.

I 100% rushed right past the info in the shock upgrade thread. Of course it’s right at the beginning lol.

Thanks for the tip on the M3 nut. Wondering if I shouldn’t seek out a rubber piece given the way I’ll be using the truck.

Yes, you need three or four washers up front at the bottom and two or three on the rear. Otherwise, the drive shafts will rub.

Not sure if you've done it yet but shim all the stearing linkage and tei rods.big rock has a lot of play .I had to do that with mine .my build is different than most due to I'm not a jumping basher .I modified mine to a street runner .as I only do speed passes so I can't really give advice to those who do jumps and run on dirt or sand .but for speed running I can through my experiences on the big rock.

Mojave fronts done.

Ace was definitely the helpful place. Was able to find the right hardware and perfect size rubber spacers.

Kratons are in the mailbox and will be going on later tonight or tomorrow.

Rear shocks in. Used the same rubber spacers and worked like a charm.

Went ahead and did some cleaning and diff inspection while I was at it. Threw in a little extra grease.

I’ve gotta get this chassis vented. Crazy amount of dirt in the motor assembly.

Was having issues removing the bearing from the front of the slipper. Found some likely fatal damage and wear.

Next project identified.

Got to testing out the new shock setup and maybe got a bit over zealous with the sends.

Went ahead and ordered the new parts for the slipper while I was getting the other pieces.

Wanted to go aluminum steering blocks and rear uprights but that will have to wait for now.

Tore it all down to clean bearings, do some slipper maintenance, and check things over while waiting for parts from Jenny’s.

Badlands arrived along with the aluminum adapters. Just need the wheel axles and the 17mm conversion will be underway.

The dirt on the front bumper is killing me

Pop or cut out the inner race from the old slipper bearing, slide it over the end of the slipper before clicking it in and it’ll be fine.

Looking at the first photo of the rear right shock could be the angle of how you took the pic but if you look at the top of the shock and follow it down about the 4th coil it looks like it starts to bend inward..is that just me or do you guys see that also? Could be camera efx I guess

Checked it out and it’s straight. Thanks for pointing that out. I will be sure to keep a close eye on it as I get things out back together.

This is where I started the evening…remaining parts finally arrived for the 17mm conversion.

Did a lot of cleaning while it was apart and got all of the bearings lubed up real nice.

Remaining parts for the 17mm conversion arrived. So I got crackin after work.

Typhon wheel axles in. Stock Big rock for comparison.

Steering hubs and rear blocks. Old block failed bad right across the bottom.

Getting there.

17’s installed

Badlands 2.8’s on aluminum hubs. Definitely added weight. Hope they hold up

Ready for a weekend rip. Definitely dig the look with the badlands.

I fitted the badlands to my bigrock as well. Their great but will balloon if you let a wheel unload. They give it better handling and more air control too and yes they look cool.
