Arrma RC's
  1. Granite
I just got a Big Rock 3s blx. And this thing always tips over (or really wants to!) when I turn.

Compared to the Granite, it's a little less stable.

Anyway, what do I need to buy to make it have a wider stance (like the Kraton 4s, if that's possible... Or a happy medium, if not)?

I like the tires, so I can keep them, and I don't wanna spend a ton of money on other unnecessary stuff.

Any links or pictures of possibilities would be awesome. Thanks!

Hub extenders work. I got my son the +10mm hub extenders but they convert the hub to 17mm so you have to get new tires. We went with the proline badlands mx28’s. It was in The ballpark of $100 but way worth it..

Lots of parts to go to 4S width, but you can go Typhon wide or less really easy.

1) Hot Racing 17mm hex extenders will get you 10mm I’d offset per side, but you’ll need 17mm hex wheels and tires. The Ragnarocks are not highly thought of so some MX28 Badlands would be a great upgrade

2) Typhon arms and turnbuckles would be an easy swap. You can keep your wheels and tires this way.

3) Both if the above and you will get near the 4S width

4) Buy $200 worth of 4S parts and dive down the rabbit hole.

So it's easy enough to find (RPM) Typhon 3s arms. But it's more difficult finding tie rod and turnbuckles for the Typhon, together. They're not in stock anywhere.

The Jenny's link posted above is out of stock of everything.

I can find turn buckles by themselves (the metal thing with the threaded ends... Sorry, I'm still new to this), but not with the tie rods (the plastic ends that they screw into).

Can anyone point me to ones in stock? Or can I just get the turn buckles and put them in the current big rock tie rods?

Also, if I do this, I don't need new shocks right. Just the arms, turnbuckles and tie rods, and that's it? Thanks again!

I just ordered some from eBay. But you can use the stock ones you have from what I’ve been told
Ebay
I got 3 sets of turnbuckles so that’s why the price says $21

Thanks for the info, everyone... I ordered some Typhon turnbuckles and Arms. So I'm planning on keeping the tires for now.

BUT are there any good pro line tires (or something) that fit on the stock hex... Which I think is 14mm? Just curious

Proline does not make any 14mm wheels afaik

What parts do you need to convert to 4S kraton arms?

The duratrax line makes wheels with 14mm hex and the right offset. Not as nice as proline. Read reviews. List here

No the wheels you linked don’t have removable hubs. But, if you did have the newer version, both of the above hexes would work. At $80+/set for those aluminum ones... no thanks I’ll take plastic. ???

I'll second the typhon arms and turnbuckles. Grabbed mine from Jennys RC for pretty cheap. Then I swapped the wheels from my granite over. I really like the stance and how it drives now.

Those wheels have the removable hexs. It says ...."Mounted on Raid Black 6x30 Removable Hex Wheels". It comes with 12mm 0 offset and .5" offset removable hexs

Widened!

It was a pain in the ass adjusting the new turn buckles to the right length, but it looks way better. Stock wheels, RPM typhon arms, and
typhon turnbuckles.

Kept the stock wheels tho. Didn't want a money pit. Thanks for the help! (I attached some pics for those who might think about doing it in the future.)

Have you driven it yet? Has the stability noticeably increased?

Just drove it.. omg, such A HUGE difference. Even at slow speeds, it would tip over before. Now, I can turn at nearly full throttle. So it allows you to drive much more aggressively.

For that $20 premium over the Granite, it should've come like this in the first place. Definitely recommend if someone gets one.

I’m looking at some Pro-Line trenchers to widen the stance and stop rollovers and wondered if these 19mm offsets actually widen the stance at all?
