So what is everyone using to clean silicone shock oil and diff oils off of everything? I have tried using 50/50 Simple Green but there was still oil left on the shock and diff components after they dried. Is there something else that would work better for removing it or do I just need to use Simple Green full strength?

I put my metal diff interns into a shallow glass jar and soak with Brakleen then wipe them down with paper towels. To get all the residual diff oil from in between the gear teeth I mesh two similar gears together with a paper towel sandwiched in between the two gears

Get yourself one of these things if you look around on eBay you can find them for .99 cents https://www.stashtea.com/products/c...iz_bt8Vm_rbdhJtFBuYem8R09mmT1p7kaAgRNEALw_wcB

Buy some Naphtha, my local hardware store carries this https://www.ruralking.com/vm-p-naph...IJZG7hLKixC1jfcQ2lGSTOMydlotRj54aAt0_EALw_wcB

Put the diff parts in the tea infuser, put some Naphtha in a jar, swish the tea infuser around in the jar, most if not all of the diff oil will come off.

That would be awesome for the diff parts but I don't know if the shock bodies would fit in the tea infuser. I can always just put everything in a Mason jar and shake it for a minute too since I have a bunch of those and could spare one to keep for my rc duty. Thanks @slick2500!

I saw a guy do this in a video with his diffs and the gears came out so clean, I cannot for the life of me find the video though.

After almost killing the wife's roses with brake cleaner overspray while cleaning bearings, I started spraying the bearings so the overspray goes into a Gatorade bottle. Then for diff gear cleaning, I drop them into the bottle, shake it around for a bit, let them soak, shake, repeat for a while. they come out very clean.

I see several people mention using Simple Green. At 6 bucks for a 32oz spray bottle it gets kind of expensive. If you have a Dollar General around your town look there for Simple Greens generic brother called Mean Green. Its exactly the same ingredients and works just as good, and at 5 bucks a gallon and a .99 spray bottle it goes a lot farther.

I just cleaned my Kraton up after trashing it at the club field yesterday. Jeeesh and I thought murdering 10,000 bugs a flight with some of my planes was a chore to clean LOL.
