How I break in and maintain my brushed motors

I didn't even know you needed to break in brushless motors, but at least now I know how.
I've read mixed across the internet. I guess some of the higher end brushed motors don't.

I really should test it. My first RC was brushed and I didn't break it in. I have the same motor in another rig that I did break in. Both have about the same amount of use on them. I should compare the two.

I would do that on the old mabuchi 540 motors that i ran in my clob busters. Those motors only cost 4 bucks though.
I think all the motors I've done this with are 550 motors. Which aren't much more $15-25. So really no worries if I do break them, I take that as a learning experience. But if I can extend the life of them than even better.

So far, from what I can tell, I haven't hurt them at all.
One I was even able to bring back to life by doing this. Which is why I say "Break in and maintenance".
