How to balance tyres?

Raz Shifren has a video on balancing tires. I balance my 3s tires by disconnecting the driveshaft from the actual axle:

i would just put little pieces of duct tape to try to balance them

I take the driveshaft off and spin the wheel on the axel but make sure it is perfectly level. When it rocks back and forth to a stop put some putty on the top of the rim inside, spin again add more until the wheel no longer stops at a certain point but spins and stops at random with no rocking or going to one point.
