Heat proof cloth electrical tape. Works good & way better than classic vinyl electrical tape. You can cut a piece of heat shrink wrap first, 3x as long as the area, slit it, put it over it, center it & slit away from the scuff. Heat it a little to shrink it, wrap in the tape. Keep an eye on it. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1448870684...q7FPNHENTvG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=SMS

Quality brand electrical tape, like scotch. don't skimp. Wrap tight so you have ~3 wraps on the wound. Smear edges with a thin layer of shoe good/e6000 just to keep the tape secure. Can also put a small amount of shoegoo or e6000 into the wound - not enough to squeeze out the ends, just enough to seal the area.
Watch tape.
I like the idea of slitting shrink wrap and putting it over. Even more so if the heatsink has glue on the inside already. Much more durable finish than what I normally do.
No problem! I've done the slit heat shrink wrap thing before. Just have to tape it. But I just don't like vinyl electrical tape on an RC, or anywhere really. The cloth stuff is good. It's under hood automotive grade. I've wrapped a bunch of stuff under the hood of my car with it, & still in place after 5 years.

I have painted L-tape on wires before and not had it fall off, I have used it on this exact thing before, not sure if I still have the ESC, If I do I'll take a pic, but it lasted years. Shoegoo on the other hand for me would 100% work here. It sticks to anything if smeared on. I can just not clean the inside of a body and glob it on a new crack and it stays even though there is a layer of dirt and debris between the two lolol.
I still say best bet is to cut the other wire in the same spot and let god sort it out!!
My RC inventory has become fairly big fairly quickly. Thanks for all the tips.
Amazon is happy aswell xD
Jesus, the love i put into my truck makes my wife not like the hobby as much lately haha
