Anyone install motor fan(s) without taking motor out? Want to install Yeah Racing fans or comparable. Insight as to how is appreciated!!

Figured out. Loosen motor/center diff screws (don't have to take off) and can pull both up slightly and then slide bottom fan bracket under. Ten tighten back up and finish fan install. Just i n case someone ever wondered. Just now waiting on fans.

Yup had to take mine out...

Then had to bend the heat sink a little bit to make it snug.

Then I screwed the top fan on where I wanted it...plugged the fan in the receiver then put the roll cage back on :)

What kind of motor is that?

Very easy
Take motor out slide the hobbywibg fan
One of my buddy bent the aluminum to fit in nicely

Wow that's bad. Anyone using thermal paste to fill in the gaps between the ridges on the motor and the heatsink?

well, he bent the aluminum on the heat sink fan I mean,
I used double sided gorilla tape to fill the gaps, I wasn't bending for sh*t.lol
but whatever works

If there's no good contact, there's no good cooling, see: PCs and CPUs. You can get thermal past or even thermal adhesive that will transfer the heat. Standared double sided tape will make things worse, it insulates the motor.

Part of contact issue is the motor has fins on it already in the center which may prevent solid contact all around.

Done. Bottom plate slid right under, no messing with motor. Did several mods:
  1. Shaved corner of left fan making it round in case touches motor cables.
  2. The good folks at Amain Hobbies made me a 2in1 Y as I only wanted one connection to receiver.
  3. Wound fan cables to offset one another meaning they each hold the other in place.
  4. Zip ties as well to assist with fastening.
Snug but not too snug. Have plenty of room away from drive shaft.

What is the 2 in1 Y connector called for your setup so I can find it on amazon or Amain. Thanks.

Here’s my setup on my outcast, lots of shrink tubing and made a quick disconnect as well. I did run the wire all the way to the receiver instead of tapping into the esc fan.

Hey man how did you get AMain to do that for you

Warning, if you like turning your Arrma's into flying objects, like I do......... these fans will NOT take the punishment. I'm talking 15 - 20 feet airborne.

Hi all,

This is probably a stupid question, so sorry for that but I am new to this Hobby. My question is
Which plug of the receiver do I use to supply an extra motor fan in my kraton? There two unused plugs. Which one do I have to take?
Thanks a lot for a short note.

Cheers, Sven.
