I have tried a 4" and 7" vice grips tool. I cannot go much bigger than that because the vice grip jaws wont fit into the dish of the rim. Any other ideas? Attach is a pic. It is severely mashed now.

Seems to me your best bet is just to keep doing what you're doing. It looks like most of the nut is already gone - you should be able to chew away the rest of it. You'll probably need to replace the axle though.

From what I gathered, that’s the front of the wheel, correct? Pic is blurry.

Is there anything that remains from the nut on the shaft?

You could try pounding a slightly undersized 12 point socket on it and see if it bites. Or they sell rounded nut/bolt sockets too. Called extractors most of the time. Not sure if local hardware or auto parts would have a set with one that small though. There’s always the send it bigger than ever before removal option too haha. Good luck
