Hi guys, does anyone have a smart way to remove this screw? Unfortunately I chewed it away with the allen key and now the allen key just rotates. Should I warm up the pin to knack it out and then maybe the screw will fall out? Or is there another way at this point?

Try a Torx head screwdriver a size bigger than the hole to start with, see if you can get one in there. Tap it home with a hammer and it should bite. If that doesn't work someone with more experience in such troubles will be along to assist you very soon buddy.

:-/ maybe F'ed. Ive ruined a couple of hubs stripping that screw.
It's in tight with lock-tight. Once it's stripped it's difficult to get out. You can try drilling it out or using a screw tap.
I Don't use lock-tight on them anymore. It's not necessary. If its never been removed before, you'll find the factory uses WAY to much lock-tight.
Arrma replaced 1 hub under warrantee because I bitched about it. Now im just careful with them.

Problem with heat is that the plastic hubs will soften or melt.

Jenny RC is great for this stuff, makes it cheap to just replace.

do yourself a favour and get some MIP hex wrenches. and if the screw seems too tight stop and get a small torch on it then keep trying it will come out eventually (y)

If all else fails.. you can punch the pin out of the side of the hex, then just replace the hex and axle stub.

Will the axle stub really have to be replaced if i punch out the pin? Not possible to reuse it? Because I think this is what I'm gonna have to do. Thanks for all the replies btw guys

Yes, unless you can remove the stripped grub screw from it. That’s what it threads into. Now that I think about it the hex and pin are probably reusable. Just the stub wil need replacement.

They can be re-used, the pin & hex. Just take care when punching it out, wear safety glasses. The grub can easily be gotten out then, toss it, go to Home Depot, or your local, & find M5 set screws, preferably 12.9, 10.9 will work. Blue loctite too 👍

I did not have any of this knowledge and good advice listed above. I would follow that.

I think I drilled it out, but there were some parts I needed to replace on the 6S I did that one. As Hobo said:

1. Get a better hex wrench and toss the allens
2. Heat...I heat them with a small torch first

If you use loctite only use purple 222 nothing stronger..!!
Blue is too strong for these little toys of ours and don't even go near red like what Arrma use.!!!

And when you have them out, replace them with a longer grub screw, so your driver has more bite. I do use a small drop of Locktite.
I don't need to heat them up.

That’s a good idea I never thought about. Usually I just toss them but I might just go ahead and do this for prevention

With the pin out taking the load off the threads and the threadlocker cooked out it should be easy to broach with a torx, use a left handed bit, or even just drill it out with a normal bit. As others have said a nice set of hex wrenches are a necessity for this hobby. I personally prefer the long handle Wera set. It's about $35 on Amazon, but worth every red cent in hex heads I haven't stripped.

Yes I've done that as well... Too much lock tire
Get a metal pin and hammer.. pop out pin using vice or hard backing
Should reduce tension on nut
