HPI just released two new wr8 one in nitro and one in brushless , should I get it for $499 on omgrc.com because they look like a sketchy website. https://www.facebook.com/OfficialHPI

I also found where HPI parts are officially sold so I think part support won't be an issue and it's looking like HPI is making a legitimate comeback. https://www.hobbyrecreationproducts...-ken-block-gymkhana-ford-fiesta-st-rx43-parts. I really like the wr8 but what are your guys opinion? ANd should I get a nitro or brushless version?

I gotta get the nitro one!
I am very new to nitro, what would be required to run this car ? I also contacted hobbyrecreationproducts(hpi North America distributor) and they said the price is $499 usd and will arrive in mid April
. Is this cheap when it comes to 1/8 nitros?

Fuel, glow ignitor, tools, spare glow plugs, and a long engine break-in.

Lots of nitro fuel, about 4x the maintenance of an electric RC. If you don't maintain the engine after EVERY run and make sure it has zero fuel left in the system, it will quickly rust and eventually ruin the connecting rods. They used to awesome, but honesty with brushless power available, they're really just a PITA. If you aren't an absolute enthusiast, you might regret it. Almost everyone who I personally know who has a Nitro car just let's it sit.

I want to get into nitro since I like the extra work it takes to get it to work and run, it’s much more rewarding than electric.

Nitro is simple really. It's the "tuning" that gets hard for some. If you know what to listen for, not necessarily having enough smoke then you'll pick it up quickly.

Some other advice, you will also need ARO and you'll need to put the piston to BDC when your done playing. Break in is usually 6 tanks and the HSN tune is on the richer side. Other notes, the OWB will get slick and slip when starting, really simple fix. Hit me up in PM if you buy Nitro, I'll walk you through everything if you'd like.
