It's a carryover from the D8/D8T they both used the same shocks front and rear but with different springs and pistons. Tekno does the same thing with the EB48 and the ET48. The shocks are fine its the springs, they are more meant for a track rig than they are for bashing. It needs longer springs is all.
can we get longer springs though 🤷‍♂️

Yeah why not? They use the same size ID spring as every other 1/8th scale shock on the market. I'm not sure what springs you would need though maybe Talion Spring would work. Let me check what springs they have stock and maybe we can check other springs and see what would fit. I wonder if Vas is going through his springs to see if anything he has will work.

-edit- So it appears that the Vorza S uses the same length shocks front and rear  The D8T and D8 both used different shocks front and rear, fronts were 112mm and the rears are 125mm and the Vorza Truggy uses 106mm shocks front and rear. So that explains the new rear shock tower. The differences between the front and rear shocks on the Vorza truggy are the springs and the shock rod ends, shock springs are 68mm long front and rear, the front uses short rod ends and the rear uses long rod ends. Shock springs are WHITE/68mm/64.6gF in the front and BLUE/68mm/68.9gF in the rear.

For reference the Vorza buggy shocks are 97mm front and rear with the following shock springs Gray/60mm/74gf front and Orange/60mm/98gf in the rear.

Yep, spring lengths aren't quite as critical as the actual shock lengths when searching for alternatives outside what a specific manufacturer offers.. I have k6exb heaviest springs from Arrma on my TC XTR..work great IMO.
TBH I do like this new vorza truggy, but won't ever own one for this price no matter how good it might be.. just too much dough for me. Can't justify it.

I firmly believe that if HPI doesn't change their pricing they are going to snuff themselves out of the market. You cannot try to make a comeback by pricing your cars way above the competition and expect them to sell. They need to drop the price about $200 or so on these new releases so they can compete in the current market.

I agree, I'd love to see them succeed as well. The more, the merrier with regards to choices.
Lord knows I don't need anymore truggies, but they are my favorite platform for sure..just so versatile IMO.

HPI has always kind of held that higher price margin though, right? At least from what i can remember (dating back to 2014ish). But they did have something to offer. The savage xs was like $300, which for it's scale is more expensive per size that the trx equivalent, but i was also a 1/12 truck outfited with larger scale electronics and was crazy fast. The full size savage was notorious for being relatively robust (never had one, but there were some issues iirc) but mostly just outright insane to drive with all the power. Fast forward almost 10 years though, with mostly the same designs they don't have any justification to hold that same higher price margin.

@slick2500 is right..if HPI doesn't open their eyes, they'll likely disappear again, regardless of what caused the demise of HPI in the past. They're just simply not being realistic.
With the likes of Arrma, TC and even Traxxas having great products at lower prices..
I haven't been over to the Savage forum since the new Savage was released, but judging by how little it's mentioned here on AF and how little content I've seen on YT things aren't exactly "happening" for HPI right now.

Maybe offline sales are doing the job for hpi - i don't have an estimate about them.

the Vorza Truggy uses 106mm shocks front and rear.

Tekno has 122mm and 136mm, Kraton 115mm and 133mm, Talion 110mm and 131mm, Sludge idn.

HPI used to be priced about the same or a little less than Traxxas depending on the model.

So after doing some looking around it seems that a lot of the price increase in these models is on Hobby Recreation Products not HPI as they are cheaper from places like Euro RC.

love hpi they where the first rc cars I had but there still the same 15 years later just with different bodies and wheels they need to bring a new platform out altogether I would say and bring the prices down a little

HPI had a very large presence in the UK from what I have seen. Lately they seem to be dong a lot of promoting down in Australia as Metro Hobbies where Vas works seems to feature a lot of their products.

I found that rather odd myself they should have stuck with the D8T shocks and the D8T rear shock tower imho. The stock springs on the D8T are rather short imho if you look back at the pics of mine you can see the shock collars are wound almost all the way down. But so far I haven't seen any complaints about the shocks themselves just the springs so time will tell how well they perform.

The Jumpshot is the only thing I can think of that is actually "new" they came out when HPI was owned by Ripmax I want to say they were released in 2017 or 2018.

The jumpshot was around in 2015 or whenever it was that i got the Bullet, so it's older than 2018. They may have updated it slightly since then.

This was the original jumpshot, the review was from 2015. Can't remember when the brushless "flux" version came out, that might be what you were thinking of in 2017 or 2018.

Not sure where the Maverick/HPI stuff comes in, like the Quantum XT/MT, or how that fits into this equation, but those are the only "new" stuff i can think of. While not being terribly exciting, and not the most durable, they were much better priced.

Oh yeah maybe I am thinking of the Flux versions. The Quantum isn't even really new as with all of the Maverick cars they are just rebrands of low end Chinese brands. I would have to look up who the OEM is of the Quantum, I remember posting it in the thread we have here about it, but it has been out for some time as well. The Strada platform is just the same old HSP platform that Redcat has been rebranding since the beginning of time.

The more I hear about HRP, the less I like them..sounds like they're largely responsible for the Corally shortage in the US too?

Yeah seems like they are. I know you are in that thread on the Corally forum about there being no stock. Was that you that talked to the guy from Rc hobby explosion and he said that HRP just isn't ordering anything?

No, it was @morrjr71 . It's a shame tho. I think Arrma 6s is better than TC 6s overall, but TC does make a good product. TC is eager to make them better too, which is nice to see.

Right? They must have wanted to keep it in tune with the Vorza buggy.

I ordered a 21 TC Kronos XTR from HRP, $409 all in. It was on my doorstep in like 3 days, which is good. Best part was free shipping and no sales tax(Utah)...but wtf with the HPI stuff!? HRP markup percentage must be skewed or something?

I think HPI needs to find a new distributor or handle their own distribution. Team Corally should do the same.
