I run the same in my granite and like them more than the stock shocks. I did swap the rear spring from the stock shocks and seems to be working great the rear spring on the new shocks was a little too stiff. They should be good for the granite they are longer than stock but take your time setting them up you’ll be good to go. Make sure to use your own shock fluid who knows what they had in there some yellowish stuff.
thank you for your advice ? it will greatly mean that it will not be a leaking as stock one. and also the look will be great ?

2-11-19 follow up on the HSP 81002/3N. With some slight modification they work on my Granite 4x4 BLX. On the front I used a small spacer on the arms and silicone tubing at the top. $.15 at Ace HW and my LHS charged me $1 for a foot of the tubing.
On the rear no spacer is needed at the arms and I used two small spacers I got from Ace HW. One spacer for the M3 screw to fit in to and then a slightly larger washer to keep the shock in position at the rear of the shock tower. There is most likely a cleaner / neater way to do the front & rear shocks but it works and cost me less than $3 at Ace. Long story short I made HSP 81002/3N shocks work and I love the look of the 1/8th scale beefier shocks on my truck.

That looks awesome @Heliopolis! Nice work adapting it all together....it’s half of the fun! I love Ace Hardware....I use those same spacers too on different things. They come in real handy and are nice to always have on hand.

Looking absolutely mint. Thanks for the updated pictures. What weight shock oil are you recommending?
I mostly bash on carparks, short grass fields with occasional jumps at a BMX track.

I just ran across these on eBay, Does anyone have any experience with these? Thought that it was interesting that they are 104mm eye to eye.

30170

Someone can me reccomend front and rear shocks from Hobbyking as direct replacement but without using spacer or washers? thanks

TLR on amazon, it’s about $7 for a bottle and I have filled 12 shocks and still have some left over.

So are the HSP 81002/3N version worth it over the non N? Bigger is better right? I could easily print out something like your solution for mounting them :D And I am getting really annoyed at the stock shocks leaking.

Bigger also means easier to roll over. I ended up pitching my 81002 and N types. I couldn’t turn without it doing summersaults. I changed to other eBay shocks that I could use the stock springs on.

Oh yeah. the HSP shocks are longer and larger. They have more travel in the springs and everything. So yes higher ride height at any setting and too stiff of oil and they didnt give, too light and they gave too much. I spent more time flipping the car over than it was worth.

Buy these instead. And use the factory springs and you'll be all set. https://www.ebay.com/itm/High-Perfo...0-Arrma-SENTON-4x4-3S-BXL-Silver/332995307383
Ride height will be almost identical to factory.

I have the N version and I like them. It took a little modification to get them to fit at the towers and front a-arms but they work greatstickers. See my detailed post with pictures. I just drive my truck around new construction sites, on the road and then do dub back flips off a wooden ramp I built in the yard. No leaks like the stockers. Totally worth the $21 or so they cost me. I like the look of the beefier shocks too so win, win.

Humm wonder about cutting the spring in the N version. I know you will lose the flat but yeah for my I have it riding low right now.

Off the back of all your write ups and findings, I ordered the non-N versions of the HSP springs. In the looks department: 10/10.... similar to yourself, I love the beefier look.
Function: fronts AND rears are way to long (by over 10mm), and they are so so bouncy.... To remedy, I am looking at installing travel limiters using fuel line to get the height to match factory shocks, and install 40wt TLR oil..... stay tuned over the weekend.

Note: see how shiny and greasy my A-Arm and drivers are.... damn leaky stock shocks.... even after leaking (estimate usage to be 7 lipo packs on grass/smooth) they still have superior dampening to the 81002/3's out of the mailbag.... hence, I will try 40wt TLR fluid.
