Hi - I just wonder if its a problem that my new HW 4985 motor touches my M2C chassis. It puts marks from the heat fins on the chassis. Is it possible to raise the motormount/centerdiff to make some mms of clearance or should I just leave it as it is and avoid sending it to much and not risk bending the chassis and destroying the motor? Also its quite hard to find a mount for a fan as there is no way to fit fx a ziplock under there…

I think scorched rc sells a motor mount that is taller for bigger motors.

Check the limitless v2 motor mount will be taller.

If you can bend an M2C chassis, I think it’ll be the first one ever! I like to use a large o-ring on the back of the motor can. It helps support the motor and keep it from touching the chassis.

I raised my motor mount a few milliliters because I was worried just like you. It's a little hard to find the perfect sized washer at Home Depot but it definitely saves your motor from hard bashing. Then top it off with an over sized O Ring at the end of the motor.

I use big O RINGS, or those stick on felt thingies you put on the bottom of chair legs to protect wooden floors. And don’t buy that fan mount that’s shown, go to the thread @Hammer Down posted above.

Sure;) I know its hard to bend those. But the problem is that the motor already touches the chassis, so it will not keep it from touching. I have to look into a taller. Motormount solution i guess:)

But you already have like 3mms of clearabce under there. I haven't got a single mm

Ill look into that. And I guess I also need the center diff other side mount then?

Thats a good idea - but does it prevent the whole thing from flexing? Would it be better to find some kind of “shimming” custom cut plate that has the same foot print as the mount?
@KevinC say these are real good and don’t require anything under the motor for mounting.

This is my dyi-attempt….🤣 But it works actually.

But only with one of the Lego bricks as long as the motor sits so low

Ooh - I see that the mount actually only touches under the mounting wholes. I gues washers would be the way to go then

Why do you run a lipo alarm?
Ive had ESC’s set to high LVC and in some cases LVC doesn’t kick in until 3.3 volts per cell, which is too low for me. I like to stop around 3.55-3.6.
The alarm allows me to have a quick peek at where my voltage is. I mount them so they are visible to me when I drive my rig up close. I don’t use the alarm aural warning (I disabled it) because it goes off under high draw sometimes and that’s annoying. I run these on all my rigs and have found alarms that are much smaller lately and don’t take up so much real estate in the chassis.
