This was a first for me.. just winged it, but I think it turned out okay. One issue I had was that after the paint dried for a few days, I put the shoe goo on and it started to pull some of the paint out a bit in spots. It looks like it has some waves, but not too noticeable.

How much would you charge to do a Typhon 3s body? I want something like that for my typhon...

It looks great but I am a bit concerned with the fact that it isn't polycarbonate paint. It may start peeling. I speak from experience:(

These body don't get along great with any paint other than polycarbonate. I realize it says plastic on the can but again in my experience the paint jobs fail.

Yeah
I would recommend using polycarbonate paint
I’ve done quite a few of these bodies using a hydro dip method and with polycarbonate paint the bodies hold up very well to use

I would like to help ya, but I gotta make sure it even holds up... I gotta give it about a dozen battery packs through to see if it starts to fall off :/ I’m hoping the shoe goo will hold it together, but I honesty don’t know. If anything, I’ll be learning through this process to see what I can do better for the next time.
Is there a video of how to do this some where. My understanding of Hydro dipping is with the use of a film with activator .
I learned a lot from this video-

There’s also others on YouTube that are pretty good.
I just filled the bin with water, add spray paint and dip it through so the paint catches the body. You can do different patterns for the next coat or however more you want to get the desired look.
Honestly, it was a very fun project, but we’ll have to see how it last.
My first thought was "what a mess" after seeing the first pic. But the others... its actually cool and works well once stickers are on. I like it!
Thanks man!! It was a cool project!

I've seen a lot of videos of guys doing guitars but not sure if it's the same technique or not.

I never considered throwing any paint I had into a bucket to dip an RC body. Hmm.

That’s pretty much all it is
I use a big plastic bin and shoot the paint into it and roll the body around to get the desired effect

just did this one the other day
