I have an Arrma Kraton and just purchased a Traxxas Xo1 so that I can take out the motor and esc..it

My plan is to take out the 1717 Castle "Big Block" and the mamba monster esc, and put them in my Kraton...Do you guys think I'll have many issues doing that? I've seen it done with Erevos, Emaxx, etc, but haven't seen anyone putting a big motor in a kraton. I was going with my Tekin t8 in it, but it's sensored and I'll have to get another esc. Either a Mamba Max X or a Tekin rx8. I'm open to all suggestions and ideas. I want something crazy fast with on and off road capabilities ...

Over on the Arrma Tips Tricks and Mods page, there are several guys with huge motors in Kratons and other Arrma 1/8's. Be sure to shim the diffs. Look at the stickies Kraton Mods thread, there is a link to a good "Bullet proofing the diff" video.

The 1717 def fits , I have seen it in the Kraton , should be a nice combo . I been wanting to do it myself except using the xo1 esc , i'd prob go with something a bit more powerful but that's just me. Please share your feedback. Thanks

don't buy the x01 got to posiden and get the 1527 for the kraton it will be way faster and a lot easier the 1717 is to wide to work easily with the motor mount. I know I tired and the posiden was easy and truck acts like a true monster

Fits good but gotta play with my gearing.
What you guys think. Stock spur with 32t only goes 55mph. What do I need to get up there

Speed Runs! My xmaxx was down so just driving my Arrma Kraton.

Stock motor with a 14t will run 60, so I am guessing you are way overgeared with that 32t pinion. Drop back to something around18t - 20t, give it a run and then adjust from there.

Also, what is the KV on that motor? If is it is really low(1000kv-1200kv), the 32t may be close to what you need, or even too small.
