Are you refering to the dusty motors cover? If ambient temperatures are high then the motor will get hotter. The fenders let more air flow theough.

Yes seeing a few of yall running with it looked interesting. I'm new to the hobby so trying to learn all that I can before wasting money on junk that doesn't matter or help.

I'm running 8s and a 25t pinion. Just a generic 40mm fan. No issues with heat here.

I highly recommend. I got mine from China off ebay for $19.
