A friend of mine liked my Axial crawlers. He enjoyed crawling with me sometimes. He showed up one day with his new TRX-4 Sport despite what I taught him about Traxxas and RC in general. I didn't say much. I was happy he finally got something of his own. He never really got used to fixing it though. And he broke the most basic stupidest things. I always ended up taking it home with me to "fix or repair daily".
That's when I got sick of dealing with Traxxas parts etc. This went on for a while. Till one day he just gave it to me. He lost interest.
I stripped the whole rig down to a slider and only used non Traxxas upgrade parts where they were needed. I had donor wheels and tires and bumpers etc. Except I needed that Traxxas Metal servo horn($10.). I tried many after market ones. Clearance issues. I ordered direct from Traxxas as the horn was on B/O everywhere at the time. After that, Traxxas kept hammering me with emails and marketing crap trying to sway me into all things Traxxas. I emailed them a few times to unsubscribe me. Then I sent an email stating I don't like any Traxxas products or their company and why and to stop harassing me. They stopped finally.
I tossed the Sport body( damaged anyway) and painted a clear Notorious body I had sitting around that fit like a glove. There is not a Traxxas logo anywhere on this rig any longer. A few Traxxas guys locally at the park didn't realize it was a Trx-4. I don't advertise it though. But I still prefer my Axial rigs. I don't like the TRX-4 transmission at all. Single or 2 speed version. It's horrible with way too much lash. Noisy as a bastard, no matter what you do. My Axials run like a Swiss Watch.
