I'm looking for clarity on Hub extensions for my 6s Typhoon

Im looking for a concrete answer if anyone knows if I can use Hub extensions to get wider tires on my typhoon 6s. I was hoping for 20mm but I can only find 10mm and 30mm.

Most importantly, Im also not sure what's compatible.

would these fit on my typhoon 6s ? If not, are there hub extenders that will fit without modding anything?

Look like they should work, BUT an extension like that will put a lot of extra stress on the hubs and bearings. I would only use this for street running, not bashing.

M2C racing makes hexes to widen. Have you done the truggification? Use Kraton/noto/outcast Hubs/stub axles/hexes. It’s a good set up

My set up(belted MX28) is the truggified. No aftermarket hexes. Works amazing. Rich Duperbash has some great video on the build

I use kraton hubs on mine and I run 23mm extenders and I bash. Not doing massive sends but I do like 10-20 feet high and probably that same length in distance, sometimes longer, and I don't have any issues with them. This is basically exactly what I run but mine are just a different color. If you run kraton hubs you will need a couple of washers to fit between the extenders and the hub because they are meant for the typhon/mojave hubs. If you stick with your typhon hubs then this will be a direct fit

As others said, start with the Kraton Hubs/hex/Axles. This gives a longer distance between the bearings, so less stress. If you want to go wider, then add an extension.

Also, as an FYI, the V1 Kraton used the same narrow hub as the Typhon, but with a wide hex extension. It also had a big enough issue with wheel bearings failing that Hot Racing came out with there HD hubs with oversize bearings. For the V2, Arrma moved to the current design, and very few people have hub bearing issues.

I've used them before with no issues. Gave a really good stance to the typhon

Thanks would you be able to send me a link where I can buy the Kraton front and back hubs too please?

I can vouch for Kraton axle stubs route. The hub extensions kind of seem sketch to me. Ran my Typhon that way for 2 years and no issues. I frequently just hit the biggest jumps at top speed (100-150ft) jumps. These are in sand, but for what it’s worth.

I’m on Kauai Hawaii. If I could just go to a store I would but being a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific hinders that.

Can someone send a link to some Kraton axle stubs? Will these alone make my typhoon wide enough for 2.8 tires?

I’m new to this.

There are kit breakers throughout the world and without putting your location as Europe, U.S., New Zealand, etc., it's harder to point you to one that is in your geographical region, which is why I asked. That being said, for the U.S. - Jenny's or JBI would be good to use.

Jenny's RC:
Kraton Hubs: https://jennysrc.com/collections/ar...bearings-front-rear-uprights-blocks-ara8608v5
Kraton Axle Stubs: https://jennysrc.com/collections/ar...afts-front-rear-center-universal-cvd-ar106040

JustBashIt RC:
Driveline and hub assemblies together: https://justbashitrc.com/shop/kraton-6s-driveline-with-hub-assemblies/

Either way, you get some extra Kraton front/rear drive shafts that you will not use. You will also have to swap out the Kraton CVD driveshaft with the Typhon CVD driveshaft. With the JustBashIt takeoffs you also get the wheel hexes and nuts.

Last question. Forgive my ignorance.

So, your telling me that if I either buy the link you have from JustBashIt or the two links for Jenny's I will be able to put 2.8' Tires on my car without any trouble? I won't need 23mm extenders? All I need to do is purchase the $70 in hubs and axle stubs and I will be good to go for wider tires?

Thanks

Correct. Will also need the Kratpn hexes if you order from Jennysrc.com, but they have them.

The other justBashit link looks to include them.

Are you making them all wider or just the rear? I'm looking to grow the rear a bit on my Talion. I don't see the advantage of widening the front.

I just ordered the pro-line hubs so I can stagger my offset a little wider in the rear. To help with the fishtailing.
Lower viscosity rear diff fluid and softer rear shocks is the cure for that. Increasing rear track width is more of a band-aid. 🤷‍♂️
