I'm sure there's several threads similar to this, but who says we can't add another! So I recently received my XLX2 and would like to upgrade my Infraction, make another speed build. I'm looking for ideas on how to fit the XLX2, that thing is a monster! So now I've got my rig gutted and I'm contemplating using the TP 4070 2250kv with the motor mount flipped or just buying smaller can and keeping everything in the front. I've seen a couple of mounts on eBay, but nothing great. Alza had a mount that went over the center diff/spool, but I don't see it on their site anymore. Please share your builds and ideas, I would love to see them.

I’ve always wanted a tp motor what part number do you recommend that I don’t have to turn around for a c-8 build chassis

I think the ideal setup is to have the wires as short as possible.
The guy who did 190 mph first had posted a picture where he had mounted the XLX2 on its side near the motor and kept the motor wires very short.

You might try that and see how it looks. He was rather brave with his and had the wires on either side of the rear drive shaft. Raz had tried this recently also. If the car will have a full skirts then you may gain some extra real-estate on the sides to mount the ESC which has less danger of damaging the wires, but places the ESC near the outside of the car. (more dangerous spot for crashes)

Example here of a Mugen 1/8 GT

James McCoy who is now at 196 mph, does not seem to care as much about wire length with a more traditional layout:
