Infraction Infraction for $385 on Mercari

I found what is advertised as a new infraction on Mercari for $385, so ordered it and it says the USPS shipping weight should be 5 lbs?! I don't know if Mercari pre shipping description is accurate or I should be worried that the seller is going to ship just the packaging of an infraction? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks

Right, yeah i seen that. I'm just not sure if Mercari pre shipping weights are in classes or what? Idk.

Not super familiar with Mercari, but from the look of it, it's basically ebay, so somebody probaby ballparking the weight or attempting to short the shipping co

Don't go by the weight alone. But surely the price seems suspicious absolutely. Maybe it is a New Old stock. Even a V1 Infr sitting around? Or the 3s version??? IDK. It could be anything. Sometimes the shipping weight's been way off. Been there.
You need to verify the Arrma kit model number being sold, before buying from any vendor. If not supplied, I would pass.

From the weight, I would guess it might be an Infraction 3s. I own one, and it weighs about that much. Just my two cents: for your sake hopefully I’m wrong.

Is it the Brushed 'Mega' version or
the 3S BLX "Roller" version?
Cause 5 lbs is awfully lite..

For that price it's mostly likely NOT the 6S. I would be suspicious ,if it is... Due to THAT price And weight..


Hopefully it's just a typo.. on the weight.

5 pounds IS just too light. Whether a Mega, 3s or 6s..... boxed and all IMHO.

The box itself is part of the weight. Sometimes several pounds right there depending. Don't forget. Shipping is always by Gross weight of the whole package. But again I have seen incorrect weights on packages. Being way off....
Maybe it is some Tiny Diecast $3.00 1/24 static model replica of a 6s Infr. and it's all a scam.
This has happened before. Hope not.

So yeah 5 pictures of the v2 6s infraction sealed box are listed with the part #ARA7615V2T1 listed as well. So we'll see. I used PayPal credit so either way I think I'm good even if it's a scam.

While I have never used Mercari, I have sold a few items on Poshmark, and Poshmark has a 5lb flat rate shipping on any item that is 5lb or less. Anything over 5lb, the seller has to upgrade the label and pay more depending on what label weight you need, but the standard label you get sent is the 5lb on every sale (I've never had to upgrade the label, so I don't know how strict they are). Perhaps Mercari has the same type of deal with the post office and has different labels based on weight class. Maybe the seller is just trying to slip it through a cheaper price bracket. IDK, just guessing on my part. Hopefully you get what was shown!

I certainly hope it is what it is supposed to be too. At least it shouldn't be too bad to get your money back if it turns out to be a scam or never ships. I'll have to look up how Mercari works just for reference at some point. I mainly used ebay over the years and never bothered with the other sites. I know Poshmark is easy / very safe to use from my experience there (even some RC stuff listed there too, not just clothing).

I'm getting cold feet reading this thread, more and more. All the NIB Arrmas I got were inside their outer Brown Arrma boxes. I know that just the Inner and thicker currogated Outer brown boxes together weighed a ton alone. I recycled several of them. Easily over 5 PLUS pounds just for the boxing and packaging alone.

Damn, your right about the brown corrugated box. Now that I remember, maybe they took it out of that box. To me it looks like it's sealed. If you look closely you can see the round sticker that seals it and that sticker looks intact still.

Yeah that's the one. Hey, thanks so much for catching that. I didn't think to use Google lens. I went ahead and canceled it. So the seller has to approve the cancellation and they have 24 hours to do so and if they don't respond then Mercari will cancel and refund it.
